In the early stages of shaping The Well Initiative, I encountered a chorus urging immediate "action". Yet, a fundamental truth about me is the belief that those we serve deserve services and resources that are not hastily concocted, but thoughtfully and prayerfully crafted to meet their unique needs. How could The Well Initiative ever be a beacon of quality sisterhood if its foundation rested on mere impulse? I'm not against taking action; it's commendable. However, every move should resonate a deep reflection of faith and a heart filled with forethought, innovation, and integrity...and that level intentionality takes time.

While some struggled to grasp my approach, my faith in a higher power led me to realized that the complete blueprint was held by the Divine. Hearts were tested to ensure that this endeavor wasn't born from impulse or an organization built on unhealthy power dynamics. Rather, it was about forging a sisterhood aligned with a higher purpose. I am immensely grateful that I resisted the urge to rush in impulsively. In turn, I diligently worked to cultivate a culture that compels everyone tied to this mission to embrace qualities of self-reflection, patience, love, trust, and commitment. Above all, I aimed to authentically address a unique need for women in my community .

     When I embarked on the journey of founding The Well Initiative in 2013, a well-defined path wasn't laid out before me. My inspiration was sparked by a deep revelation - after returning to the fold following years in a tumultuous relationship and unconventional path, I sensed a void, a space that resonated with women like me. I witnessed the beauty of established organizations and emergence of admirable companies offering services to assist women in their careers or businesses within my city and abroad. Many of these women-led organizations provided exceptional services and support. I saw no need to duplicate their efforts, yet there remained a gap. What about the mothers without degrees, the unsung heroes who managed thriving businesses and sought mentors to propel them forward? What about the young women juggling college, multiple jobs, and burgeoning entrepreneurial ventures? What about those who embraced non-traditional paths, whose stories may not be adorned across social media but who held wellsprings of wisdom? Where could they uncover a haven for total well-being,  authentic connections, meaningful impact, and to just be. The answer was clear - The Well Initiative was destined to be that haven. A sanctuary for all women, transcending racial, educational, and socio-economic barriers. A realm where they could be nurtured, elevated, linked to resources that can help them grow, and ultimately embrace their power as the "keepers of the heart of humanity".

Through my own life, I've navigated financial challenges, professional setbacks, physical trials, and emotional storms. In those moments, it wasn't the name, education, or public perception of a person that buoyed me—it was their authentic desire to see me rise above. My vision is simple yet profound: to witness all women radiate their brilliance. The Well Initiative Women's Association stands as a refuge to mend, to shake off the dust, to connect, to draw strength from, to pour into, and to return to communities with newfound vigor that can transform the world.
